Every time my wife and I spend time in the Scottish highlands, she falls in love with all the sheep. And even more in love with the border collies herding them. So I made her this silly little game.
It took a lot of fine tuning to work out the dog movements, as well as the comfort zones and how sheep flee. Once that was figured out though, it was easy to add our own dogs as secondary playable friends, as well as coos and other obstacles.
Daily puzzles are procedurally generated, but need to be approved by me and scheduled in advance. The backend works much the same as the public-facing Field Farmer, where users can customize their puzzles by changing tiles, sprites, obstacles, number of sheep, fences, etc..
Also in my backend is an asset lab where I can create new assets for each tile type or sprite, and create seasonal characters and tiles.
