Hi, my name is Sam.

I’m currently director of product & innovation at The DataFace and based in 🌧️ Vancouver, BC.

I have a bachelor’s degree from the University of Waterloo School of Architecture (2015) and a Master’s of Science in Data Visualization from Parsons in NYC (2017).

I’m also an 🍻 eight-time local pub trivia champion along with my twin brother; the 🏒 current scoring leader in one of the lowest-division adult hockey leagues in the city; an 🚇 early pioneer of the Circle Line Pub Crawl; and (formerly) a 🥍 starting defenseman for the Scotland National Men’s Lacrosse team.

I design beautiful websites and data visualizations all day every day. So I built this site much more simply. And then made Porto to let you make one just like it. No frameworks, no CMS, no UI library, no bullshit. Not even a font import. Just static. Try it out for yourself while it’s in public beta.

I build things like Bopeep, Porto, Caught Looking, Tally, and Been in my spare time with my own funds. If any of those have made your life more fun, please consider buying me a coffee.
