The Yelp Economic Average tracks the performance of local economies across the United States using Yelp data. The DataFace has been working with Yelp’s communications team to produce data-driven stories since 2018, including quarterly YEA reports.
Since I joined the team, we’ve been responsible for two annual reports, six special reports, and countless quarterly reports. We also designed and built yelpeconomicaverage.com, the new home for YEA. Each report combines interactive and static data viz and graphics, with copy written by the Yelp team.
